Hi, I'm Mubashshir Uddin. Welcome to Brain to AI.
The question I can't put down
How does a blob of matter in my skull create a "me"? How do a few billion neurons firing add up to a sense of self, the experience of seeing red, or just having a bad day? Nobody has really explained how this works, and that's exactly why I keep coming back to it.
AGI fascinates me for the same reason. If we ever build an intelligent machine, we'll have to ask whether there's someone inside. And once we understand what makes a mind a mind, we'll learn a lot more about ourselves too.
What you'll find here
- AI and AGI: what it would take to build general intelligence, and what we'd owe it
- Neuromorphic computing: machines designed more like brains than calculators
- Brain and consciousness: the hard questions at the edge of neuroscience, physics, and philosophy
Expect half-formed ideas, honest "I don't know"s, and the occasional rabbit hole.
Who's writing this
I'm a Deep Learning Engineer based in Gurgaon, India. I studied Physics and Aerospace Engineering at IIT Kanpur, and I currently build ScadaNXT, an AI-powered predictive platform for utility-scale solar assets, at TerraNxt. Before that, I worked on deep learning research and product engineering at Smarttrak AI. On the side, I built Mighty Resume, an AI resume analyzer.
Physics taught me to ask why. Engineering taught me to build things to find out.
Say hi
If you've got a theory, a counterargument, or a paper I should read, I'd love to hear it.
